Hi, folks!
Today’s joke is so easy that it looks like we are having a day off!
After a snow storm, Dewey the librarian has taken advantage of library regulations to take a day off, or almost.
Now he’s playing Wii video games with his girlfriend.

Girlfriend: - It’s nice to have a day off together!
Dewey: - Oh, I don’t have the day off.
Girlfriend: - I don’t understand.
Dewey: - Policy says on snow days I get paid for the full day even if I get in late.
Girlfriend: - It’s four o’clock in the afternoon!
Dewey: - Yeah, I should really be getting ready.

Hoy el chiste es tan fácil que parece que nos tomemos el día libre.
Después de una tormenta de nieve, el bibliotecario de Dewey se aprovecha del reglamento de la biblioteca para tomarse un día libre, o casi.
Ahora está jugando con los videojuegos de la Wii con su amiga.
Amiga: - ¡Qué bueno tener un día libre juntos!
Dewey: - Oh, no tengo el día libre.
Amiga: - No lo entiendo.
Dewey: - La normativa dice que los días de nieve me pagan todo el día, incluso si llego tarde.
Amiga: - ¡Son las cuatro de la tarde!
Dewey: - Sí, realmente debería estar preparándome.
VOCABULARIO
Wii ™ = a home video game console by Nintendo.
a day off = un día libre (del trabajo), de permiso, de descanso.
to get in = entrar (en este caso concreto, llegar al trabajo)
Veamos el matiz que añade “get”:
to be ready = estar preparado, estar listo
to get ready = prepararse
to be getting ready = estar preparándose
to be wet = estar mojado
to get wet = mojarse
to be getting wet = estar mojándose
to be in = estar dentro
to get in = entrar en (un sitio; un grupo; una pelea; un debate); ponerse (en una cola)
I try to get in 30 minutes of exercise every day
to be getting in = estar entrando.
We guess that today you are getting ready for the next 2 days off.
