Tamara: - After you handle the book, wash your hands with soap and water.
Tamara: - Make sure you lather for at least thirty seconds.
User: - Any other advice?
Tamara: - Avoid meat. It’s full of germs and bad karma.
Dewey: - Must helpfulness always turn to propaganda?
VOCABULARIO
lather = espuma de sabón; to lather = enjabonar, enjabonarse
take advantage of (a situation) = aprovechar / aprovecharse (como no hay diferencia en la construcción, hay que tener cuidado para evitar ser malentendido):
I took advantage of their generosity and ate as much as I could (neutral/positivo)
He took advantage of our generosity and ate as much as he could
I took advantage of them / He took advantage of us / She took advantage of the whole situation (negativo)
profit = beneficio
En este caso NO podemos decir: He profit the situation, pues significa sacar beneficio (económico):
He profited from that situation
I profit from our relationship
to handle = tener entre manos
to handle a book (manipular)
to handle a situation (encargarse, gestionar)
to handle a challenge (superar un reto)
handle = mango
germs = gérmenes, microbios
Un abrazo,
Elaine, Josep y Tomàs
