VOCABULARIO
no-nonsense person = persona que va al grano, que no le gusta parlotear ni le hagan perder el tiempo
to have got somebody’s number = (fig.) tenerle tomadas las medidas a alguien, saber qué pie calza
she’s got your number (she knows what you’re up to, who you are, how you behave, etc.) = ella te ha pillado (sabe lo que vas a hacer, quién eres, cómo te comportas, etc.)
to warn = avisar, advertir
warning [wó(r)ning] = aviso, advertencia
to phone something in = hacer algo de mala gana o sin ganas, con el mínimo esfuerzo
El significado viene de “algo tan poco importante que hasta se puede hacer con una llamada telefónica”.
phone-in TV show = programa en el que la gente interviene por teléfono desde su casa
